Misty May-Treanor and Stanford grad Kerri Walsh successfully defended their Olympic beach volleyball gold medal on Thursday with a 21-18, 21-18 victory over China's Tian Jia and Wang Jie in the championship match. They became the first team in beach volleyball history to win back-to-back Olympic titles. May-Treanor and Walsh extended their winning streak to 108 straight matches, and won their 14th consecutive Olympic contest. Walsh also won her 100th career title, joining May-Treanor (103) as the only players to reach the century mark. Misty's husband, Matt Treanor, was at AT&T Park in San Francisco in his duties as a Florida Marlins' back-up catcher.
