The Palo Alto Babe Ruth 14-year-old all-stars won their second straight game in the World Series, posting an 11-4 victory over Syracuse on Tuesday in Quincy, Mass. Drake Swezey was the winning pitcher, getting two scoreless innings of relief pitching from Tucker Jorgesen, who was named Player of the Game. Palo Alto scored three runs in the fifth and five in the sixth to close out the Middle Atlantic Regional champion. Palo Alto (2-1) will close out pool play on Wednesday against host Quincy. A victory will assure Palo Alto of advancing to the elimination portion of the tournament, which begins Thursday. The championship game is Saturday.
