Stanford sophomore Stephanie Amack and her United States’ Under-20 women’s national team teammates clinched a spot in the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, beating China, 3-0, on Tuesday in Moncton, Canada.
Lindsay Horan scored twice and assisted on the final goal as the Americans (2-1, 11-1) advance to play Korea at 2 p.m. (PT) on Saturday.
Amack, at right back, and Cardinal freshman Andi Sullivan, in the middle of the midfield, started for the U.S. Sophomore Jane Campbell is the team’s back-up goalie.
