The Redwood City Blues opened the Area 2 American Legion baseball tournament with a 13-3 victory over Dublin on Saturday at Baylands Athletic Center. Redwood City pounded out 20 hits in the game, which was called by the 10-run rule after Jack Mosbacher's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh provided the final 10-run advantage. The Blue took the lead for good in the second, with Mosbacher's 2-run single being the big hit. Mosbacher, Danny Diekroeger and Tim Rivera all had three hits for Redwood City, which will face host Palo Alto on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The winner of that game likely will face defending champion San Mateo on Monday at 7:30 p.m., while the loser will drop into a consolation game Monday at 4:30 p.m., against the winner of Sunday's San Carlos-San Bruno game.
