Stanford grad Carlos Quentin received 526,282 write-in votes during fan balloting for major-league baseball's All-Star Game. The White Sox outfielder was voted onto the American League team by a player vote. Quentin (19 home runs, 61 RBI, .273 batting average entering Sunday's action) was named to his first all-star team. Portola Valley resident Eric Byrnes finished 20th in the NL outfield voting with 787,500.
