La Tourette 1,500 free, U.S. Olympic trials

Chad La Tourette, who redshirted his freshman year at Stanford, swam 15:02.78 in the qualifying round of the men's 1,500 free on Saturday at the U.S. Swimming Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, Neb. He swam the second-fastest time to earn a spot in Sunday night's final. Stanford sophomores David Mosko (52nd in 15:56.82) and Scott Korotkin (68th in 16:06.84 also competed. Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics' Ben Hinshaw recorded a time of 15:59.88 to finish 60th out of 74 entrants.
