Stanford junior Julia Smit raced 2:13.89 in the women's 200 back at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials in Omaha on Friday but placed 18th, just missing the cut for the semifinals. Cardinal senior Andrea Axtell finished 32nd in 2:15.55 and sophomore Kelley Hug was 73rd in 2:18.63.

In the women's 800 free, Palo Alto Stanford swimmers Lauren Bailey (19th in 8:45.44), Samantha Vanden Berge (46th in 8:57.26) and Sara Sun (50th in 9:01.13) competed in the preliminaries but did not advance.
