Stanford grad Ben Wildman-Tobriner beat the American record in the men's 50 free with a 21.68 while qualifying for the semifinals of the event at the U.S. Olympic trials in Omaha on Friday. He won't get credit for setting the record as he finished with the second-fastest time. Cullen Jones went 21.59 in the previous heat to capture the record. Former record holder Gary Hall, Jr. was third in 21.89. Stanford grads Matt Crowe (22nd in 22.76) and Andy Grant (28th in 22.86) also competed in the 50 free. In the men's 100 fly, grad Jayme Cramer qualified for the semifinals with his 53.11 mark, the 11th-best time of the prelims. Palo Alto Stanford swimmer Peter Davis was 25th in 53.90.
