Stanford senior Nate Cass recorded the top time in the men's 200 IM with his 2:04.08 among local swimmers during the prelims of the U.S. Olympic trials on Thursday in Omaha. It still wasn't fast enough. Cass finished 24th in the event. Cardinal sophomore Josh Charnin-Aker was 43rd in 2:05.69, and sophomore Scott Lathrope was 51st in 2:06.30. Palo Alto swimmers Cheyne Bloch and Ben Hinshaw also competed, with Bloch finishing 38th in 2:05.29 and Hinshaw placing 64th in 2:07.17.
