Stanford grad Tara Kirk qualified for Monday night's women's 100 breast semifinals, swimming the fourth best time of 1:07.86 in Monday morning's prelims at the U.S. Olympic trials in Omaha. Stanford sophomores Elizabeth Smith (29th in 1:10.79) and Kerry Kraemer (50th in 1:11.77) also competed in the event. Stanford grad Susan (Rapp) Von Der Lippe was 60th in the 108-swimmer event with a 1:12.12. In the women's 100 back, Stanford grads Brooke Bishop (22nd in 1:02.60) and Fiona O'Donnell-McCarthy (71st in 1:03.97) competed in the 122-swimmer event.
