Palo Alto sophomore Eli Givens turned in the fastest times in the Central Coast Section while winning the 100 and 200, but his efforts couldn't prevent the Vikings from dropping a 73-54 decision to visiting Los Gatos on Thursday in SCVAL De Anza Division track and field dual-meet action. Givens clocked a personal best of 10.77 to win the 100 to grab the CCS lead in that event. He also ran a wind-aided 22.03 to win the 200, under his previous section-leading time of 22.16. Givens also ran the second leg of the 400 relay that won in 43.26 and won the long jump at 20-6 1/2. Take away the wins by Givens and the only other Paly triumph came in the 1,600 relay. The Vikings, who only two years ago won the CCS team title, is now 0-4 in dual meets.
