After struggling through the regular season despite being heavily favored to win everything, PASCO finally showed what was expected of it all along by sweeping through the Palo Alto Little League City Tournament. PASCO capped its undefeated tourney run with a 5-1 victory over All Out Baseball on Saturday at Middlefield Ballpark. Oren Carmeli pitched a complete-game three-hitter to get the victory, giving PASCO its first city tournament title since winning back-to-back crowns in 2001-02. Skylar Anderson drew a bases-loaded walk in the first inning to get PASCO on the board first. All Out Baseball tied it in the second when Austin Krohn doubled and raced home when a high fly ball by Carl Rodriguez was dropped in center. PASCO made it 2-1 in the second when Kyle Johnson doubled, Jaisel Sandhu singled and Clark Schmutz grounded into a fielder's choice to scored Johnson. Rowan Thompson led off the bottom of the third with a solo homer over the centerfield fence for a 3-1 PASCO lead. It was 5-1 after four innings when Carmeli and Thompson both singled and Spencer Drazovich followed with an RBI single. Thompson then scored on a passed ball. All Out Baseball threatened in the top of the sixth, leading the bases with two outs. With Carmeli facing his final batter due to pitching limits, he buckled down and got Will Snodgrass to ground out to Schmutz at short to finish off the victory.
