Eddie Gamboa threw a four-hitter and UC Davis beat Stanford, 4-2, in the first round of the NCAA regional at Stanford on Friday night. Cord Phelps had two hits, and Jason Casto and Sean Ratliff drove in runs for the Cardinal (31-23), which plays Arkansas on Saturday at 1 p.m.
