The Priory girls posted a 3-1 victory over visiting Pinewood in West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) soccer action Thursday in Portola Valley. Pinewood dropped to 2-9 in league (3-16 overall).

"The score doesn't reflect the way we played on their wet and slick grass field," said Pinewood coach Michael Tetzlaff. "Towards the end of the first half we were closer to scoring than they were, and we held them (scoreless) throughout the second half. But, at the end of the day, what hurts us is the lack of bodies being able to play. We had 12 players today, but amongst them are key players going into the games not 100 percent healthy -- such as Etelle Stephan and Olivia Biggs, who both played incredibly tough but at times were limited by their ailings. Our chances of staying in the Foothill Division come down to Monday's game at home against King's Academy and to how Castilleja and NDSJ fare in their games."
