Menlo School moved clinched no worse than a tie for its third straight West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) girls' soccer race with a 3-0 victory over host Castilleja at the Mayfield Soccer Complex on Thursday. Menlo junior defender Lizzie Lacy scored from 20 yards out with a high shot inside the far post unassisted 18 minutes into the match. Menlo's two other goals came in the second half. Junior Leah Swig volleyed in a corner kick from junior Alexandra Walker from eight yards out at the eight-minute mark. Senior Sienna Stritter's 15-yard shot found the far corner of the goal off an assist from senior Amanda McFarland in the 18th minute as the Knights moved to 10-0-1 in league (14-3-2 overall) while the Gators fell to 2-6 in league. Castilleja keeper Amanda McMaster had 11 saves.
