Senior midfielder Emma LaPorte scored two goals in the first five minutes to lead host Menlo School to a 6-0 victory over Castilleja in West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) girls' soccer action on Thursday.
Laporte's first goal was unassisted when she beat two defenders on the dribble and shot low to the far corner. Her second came from 10 yards out off a nice pass from sophomore Zoe Enright. Later, senior Sienna Stritter connected from 12 yards out off a nice feed by senior Chandler Wickers. Senior Amanda McFarland connected in the 34th minute, unassisted, to push the halftime lead to 4-0.
Six minutes into the second half, Stritter got her second goal of the match (unassisted) on an accurate shot from eight yards out. Junior Jamie Corley tallied Menlo's final goal with a nice first time finish of an accurate Enright cross. Sophomore keeper Schuyler Tilney-Volk and her defense earned their third consecutive shutout. Menlo's next match is Tuesday at home against Priory at 3:30 p.m.
