The Menlo girls’ soccer team netted three goals in each half to cruise past The King’s Academy 6-0 in Monday’s West Bay Athletic League-Foothill game in Sunnyvale. The Knights improve to 1-0-1 in league play and 5-3-2 overall. The King’s Academy falls to 0-2-0 and 4-4-0 overall. Junior Jamie Corley scored three minutes into the match on a cross from sophomore Zoe Enright. Senior Chandler Wickers scored at the 10-minute mark on another beautiful Enright cross. Junior Leah Swig tallied in the 37th minute off a cross from Corley. In the second half, junior McKenzie Doyle scored in the 10th minute on a rebound of Chandler’s blocked shot. Junior Katie Keller scored next at 35 minutes off an assist from junior Tess Batchelder. Batchelder tallied Menlo’s final goal off a Doyle assist in the 38th minute. Sophomore goalie Schuyler Tilney-Volk had five saves earning the shutout. The Knights have outscored their opponents 18-6. Menlo’s next match is Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Pinewood.
