The Palo Alto boys' track and field team finished second to Los Gatos, 138-127, at the SCVAL De Anza Division meet championships on Thursday at Los Altos High, but the Vikings still came away with the overall league championship. Paly won the dual-meet title with a 6-0 mark during the regular season and needed only to finish second or third at the league meet finals to claim the overall title. The Vikings did that easily, getting individual titles from Julius Berezin (800), Mike Scott (triple jump) and Dom Powell (high jump). The Gunn boys finished third 65 points and were led by junior sprinter Charles Chisom, who won the 100 (11.28) and 200 (22.62) in season-best times.
