Menlo-Atherton saw its football season come to an end following a 35-6 loss to No. 2 seed and host Los Gatos (9-3) on Friday night in a Central Coast Section Division II semifinal. The No. 3-seeded Bears (8-4) could not find a way to stop Wildcats' running back Joey Wood, who rushed for 212 yards on 23 carries and scored four touchdowns. Menlo-Atherton was out-gained in the first half, 202-101, and was trailing by 35-0 until finally scoring in the waning seconds. Los Gatos, which was beaten by M-A in the preseason, now advances to the CCS championship game next Saturday.
