Menlo College's Jessica Marso battled cold conditions on Saturday at the NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Championships at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan. for a 269th place finish overall with a time of 21:07.
Marso earned the right to compete in the race with a fifth place overall finish in the Cal Pac Championships on Nov. 4 where she finished fifth overall with a time of 20:11.
Her 269th place in finish in the field of 319 is a 19-second improvement on her performance in the National Championships a season ago in which she again battled difficult course conditions for a 275th overall finish with a time of 21:30.
University of British Columbia claimed its second-straight team title at the race while College of Idaho’s Hillary Holt took home the individual title for the second consecutive year with a time of 16:48, nine seconds faster than the second place finisher. College of Idaho finished second overall as a team for the second-straight season.
