Menlo-Atherton opened the 2013 Central Coast Section Division II football playoffs with a 21-7 victory over No. 6-seeded Oak Grove (5-6) on Friday night in Atherton. The No. 3-seeded Bears (8-3) earned a berth in next week's semifinals by producing two big pass plays -- 70- and 75-yard touchdown receptions from quarterback Brian Keare to fellow senior Isiah Nash. M-A held a 14-0 halftime lead, saw it trimmed to 14-7 after three quarters, but then added a final TD in the fourth quarter on a 17-yard interception return by Oliver Bucka. Menlo-Atherton, oddly enough, managed just 11 rushing yards for the entire game.
