The fourth-ranked Cardinal dropped a 10-5 decision to top-ranked UCLA in a semifinal match of the UC Irvine Invitational on Sunday.

The Cardinal (10-3) will play for third-place against the loser of a later match between USC and Pacific.

The Bruins (18-0) meet the winner of that match for the invitational championship.

Stanford hosts UCLA again Saturday at 10 a.m., just ahead of the 12:30 p.m. football kickoff between the same schools.
