Menlo School came out strong, establishing a 10-2 halftime lead, on the way to a 15-6 nonleague victory in boys water polo action Saturday. The Knights (13-2) were led in scoring by center Nick Bisconti with six with Johnny Wilson adding four. Weston Avery and Chris Xi both added three assists.

The tempo was controlled by Menlo's swarm-style defense early in the game, shutting out Los Altos in the first quarter. Avery led the team defensively with four steals while goalies John Wilson (first half) and Spencer Witte (second half) combined for 15 saves.

Menlo now looks ahead to hosting league rival Menlo Atherton (9-4) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in their second of two PAL Bay Division contests. The Knights won the first match, 10-8.
