Giving up three straight touchdown plays of 60 or more yards in the first half, Palo Alto suffered a 34-14 nonleague football loss to Mitty on Saturday night at Foothill College. After taking a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a 21-yard pass from Keller Chryst to Keesean Johnson, the Vikings (1-1) gave up a 60-yard TD run, a 77-yard punt return and a 65-yard run to fall behind by 21-7. Paly trimmed its deficit to 21-14 when Malcolm Davis caught a 43-yard scoring toss from Chryst.

Chryst put Paly in a position to tie before halftime when he hooked up with Andrew Frick on a 61-yard play. With the ball on the Mitty 4, the Vikings moved backwards on penalties and eventually were halted by the Monarchs' defense.

Mitty added a pair of field goals from 26 and 42 yards just before the half, the second coming after a kickoff bounced off a Paly player with 7.2 seconds before intermission. Mitty's defense kept the Vikings off the scoreboard in the second half.
