Menlo splits two matches, Southern Oregon tournament

The Lady Oaks overcame a slow start in their season opener to down Northwest University, 23-25, 25-21, 25-14, 25-13, on Thursday at the Southern Oregon Tournament in Ashland.
Freshman libero Renn Isobe had a match-best three aces to give the Lady Oaks a boost.
Reigning Cal Pac Player of the year Courtney Calicdan was in mid-season form, hammering down a match-high 21 kills to go along with 13 digs. Nicole Yap had 11 kills and a team-best 18 digs.
The Lady Oaks (1-1) fell to the host Raiders, 25-17, 25-14, 25-23, on Thursday night.
