Stanford grad Eugene Godsoe was part of the United States men's 400 medley relay team that finished first in the preliminaries in a time of 3:32.72.

The regular relay team, consisting of Matt Grevers, Kevin Cordes, Ryan Lochte and Nathan Adrian, was disqualified during the championship final.
