The Sacred Heart Prep boys' soccer team got its first Central Coast Section playoff victory since moving from the fall to the winter with a 2-1 triumph over No. 12-seeded Carmel (9-4-6) on Tuesday in Atherton. The No. 5-seeded Gators (16-2-3) had lost in their past four appearances in the Division III postseason and last won a section playoff game in the fall of 2007.

Seniors Robert Hellman and Willy Lamb teamed up for both SHP goals after Carmel had taken the lead with just 12:12 left in the first half. Hellman got the equalizer on a header following an assist from Lamb in stoppage time. That goal provided momentum for the Gators in the second half. With 33:25 left to play, Hellman took a corner kick from Lamb and headed it home for the game-winner.
