The Menlo School boys' soccer team kept its West Bay Athletic League title hopes alive by beating visiting Pinewood, 6-0, for its third straight league win. Menlo (9-1-2, 12-3-3) took the lead early on and never looked back. In the seventh minute, senior Nick Batchelder fed fellow senior Ryan Karle, who turned at the top of the box and rifled the ball into the top corner from 22 yards out. A few minutes later Karle added his second on a header off a corner from sophomore Kyle Perez.

Karle completed his hat trick in the 23rd minute when he volleyed home a corner from sophomore Jackson Wagner. Sophomore Peter Rosston added to the Knights' lead in spectacular fashion later in the half, scoring a header off a cross from freshman Mason Brady.

Senior captain Timmy Costa, who combined with Karle for his 10th shutout of the season, played striker in the second half and netted two goals. The first came after a weaving run from fellow senior Glenn Baxter set Costa up in the box, where his deflected shot lobbed the Pinewood goalie and found the back of the net. Later in the half, junior Jordan Vasquez did the legwork, finding Costa open at the top of the box for another winning finish.
