The Menlo College softball team opened the season with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Northwest Nazarene on Friday.

Justine Roscoe pitched a five-inning shutout in the opener, an 8-0 victory.

The Oaks won the second game, 7-0.

Roscoe allowed two hits and walked two while striking out five.

"Justine has been working on a mental side of the game because she's always had an amazing pitching style. In the fall she started working on this mental side and she's done a great time flourishing it and she walked out and showed it," Menlo coach Michell Vlahos said.
