The Menlo School girls' tennis team saw its fine season end in an 11-4 loss to undefeated Monta Vista in the semifinals of the Central Coast Section Team Tournament on Monday at Courtside Club in Los Gatos. The finish for the Knights (17-8) was not unexpected after they were seeded No. 4 and placed once again in the same half of the bracket as the defending CCS champs. Despite having a solid singles lineup that produced four victories Monday, the Menlo doubles teams were swept and the match halted before the final three singles matches were played.

Top-seeded Monta Vista (23-0) will meet No. 3 St. Francis (16-5), a 10-8 winner over No. 2 Mitty, for the title on Wednesday at Courtside Club at 1:30 p.m.

Four seniors played their final matches for Menlo -- Laura Gradiska, Giannina Ong, Sam Hoag and Christine Kvamme. The team's fifth senior, Kayci Lacob, also wrapped up her career with the Knights, who won a 19th straight league title this season and improved the team's winning streak in league matches to 198-0 since 1994.
