The Palo Alto girls' water polo team saw its season end in a 9-8 loss to visiting San Benito in a Central Coast Section Division I opener Tuesday night. The No. 7-seeded Vikings (14-11) got a tying goal from freshman Katie Francis with 23 seconds to play, but gave up a goal to No. 10 San Benito with less than 15 seconds to play to end the contest.
