Varsity Boys Tennis
Gunn 5, Aptos 2
Date of competition: Wednesday, March 12, 2008
The Gunn boys' tennis team exacted a little revenge with a 5-2 nonleague victory over visiting Aptos on Wednesday. "It was a big win over a very strong Aptos team," said Gunn coach Jim Gorman, whose team improved to 11-2 overall. "Aptos beat us 4-3 last year, so it was nice to even up with them this year." Sophomore Rajeev Herekar led the way at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win. The Titans lost at No. 2 and 3 singles but Alex Klein came through at No. 4 with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph. Gunn swept the doubles in straight sets with the teams of Bharat Reddy-Andrew Meyer at No. 1, Shravan Narayen-Simon Kaubisch at No. 2 and Tommy Paddock-Freddie Chen at No. 3.
