Rolling up another dominating victory with some big plays, the Menlo School football team cruised past Mission-San Francisco, 56-24, at Kezar Stadium on Saturday in nonleague action. The Knights (2-0), with two big wins under their belt, have the week off before they head into Peninsula Athletic League action at Half Moon Bay on Sept. 21.

Menlo junior Travis Chambers rushed for 112 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown as the Knights rolled up 462 total yards. Senior quarterback Matt Bradley completed 8 of 12 passes for 170 yards and three TDs, and junior Jack Heneghan added another 78 passing yards and the game’s first touchdown pass -– a 27-yard strike to senior Connor Stastny.

“Our guys did great, “ Menlo coach Mark Newton said. “The linemen did a really good job today. It was unfortunate that a few of their best players were out today, but we saw a lot of good things.”

Wiley Osborne finished with seven catches for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Stastny had four receptions for 67 yards. Senior lineman Wyatt Rouser had another standout performance on both sides of the ball. He blocked an extra-point attempt, had two tackles, and he ran the ball in from the 1 for a third-quarter touchdown.

Cornerback Peter Bouret (four tackles) and junior lineman Adam Yecies also had strong outings. In another repeat play of last week’s 66-14 win, senior Max Parker ran back another kickoff for a touchdown -- this time for 85 yards in the second period. By the half against the short-handed Bears, the Knights had built a 42-12 lead.

After Stastny’s touchdown, Chambers ran into the end zone from seven yards out. Then Bradley connected with Connor Paterson for a 55-yard score and Osborne for a 13-yard TD.
