Maddy Coon doubled in one run and scored the winning run as the Stanford softball team scored twice in the last inning to squeeze past visiting Campbell on the first day of the Stanford Invitational. The Cardinal (22-2) squandered several opportunities throughout the game, and Michelle Smith delivered the game-winning hit to give Missy Penna her 14th win in 16 decisions. Penna struck out a season-high 15 and allowed just three hits.
