Zach Jones doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Stanford baseball team beat visiting Cal State Fullerton, 6-5, in a nonconference game on Sunday. The Cardinal (6-2) swept the Titans at hme for the third straight series. Jeff Whitlow, who reached on an error, scored from first base to give Stanford its fourth straight victory. Toby Gerhart hit a home run to tie the game in the eighth. Sean Ratliff retired all six batters he faced -- his first pitching appearance in two years -- to earn the win. Ratliff also doubled twice and made a fine catch in center field. The Cardinal travels to California for a nonconference game on Tuesday.
