Pinch hitter James Threw singled home Aaron Suarez-Lopez in the bottom of the 13th inning to lift the Menlo College baseball team to a 6-5 victory over Concordia in an elimination game of the NAIA West Regional playoffs Friday.
Suarez-Lopez singled and reached second base on a balk ahead of Threw's clutch hit.
"It's what you hope for," Threw said. "We've been waiting for this hit to come and for me to get the chance and putting it in play is the greatest feeling ever."
The Oaks (27-25) meet College of Idaho later Friday in the championship game of the tournament. Menlo must win twice to advance to the NAIA national tournament.
Will Pierce had two hits and drove in two runs for the Oaks, while freshman Alex Tenorio pitched 2 1/3 innings of relief for the win.
