Dallas 95, Jeremy Lin, New York Knicks 85
Date of competition: Tuesday, March 6, 2012
The defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks got the best of Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks in their second meeting in the past month, avenging an earlier loss on national TV with a 95-85 victory in Dallas on Tuesday night. Lin, the Palo Alto High grad who led the Knicks past the Mavs in the previous meeting, managed 14 points, seven assists, three rebounds, two steals and just two turnovers in 33:03, the most court time of any Knick player. Amare Stoudemire led New York with 26 points while reigning NBA MVP Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 28 points as the Knicks fell to 18-20. New York is 10-5 since Lin entered the lineup as a full-time player on Feb. 4.
