Date of competition: Monday, February 20, 2012
Palo Alto High grad Jeremy Lin scored a team-high 21 points and dished out nine assists, but it wasn't enough as the New York Knicks dropped a 100-92 decision to the New Jersey Nets on Monday in Madison Square Garden. Lin also had seven rebounds, four steals and just three turnovers in 36:21 minutes, but fouled out with 44.9 seconds to play and New York trailing, 98-89. The Knicks (16-17) fell to 8-2 over the past 10 games that Lin has contributed on a nearly full-time basis. During that time, Lin has averaged 24.6 points and 9.2 assists per game. Former Stanford standout Landry Fields added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Knicks, who welcomed back All-Star Carmelo Anthony from injury. He finished with 11 points.
