Palo Alto High grad scored 26 points and dished out five assists but it wasn't enough as the New York Knicks saw their seven-game win streak end in an 89-85 loss to the visiting New Orleans Hornets on Friday night in Madison Square Garden. Lin had 18 points and eight turnovers in the first half, but turned the ball over just once after intermission. He scored to bring New York within 80-77 with 1:34 to play and added two points to get the Knicks to within 82-80 with 1:06 left. Lin's final two points, on free throws, made it an 85-82 game with under 27 seconds to play. New York just couldn't get any closer. It was the first loss for New York since Lin began his remarkable streak, which now stands at 7-1 since Feb. 4. He is averaging 24.6 points and 8.6 assists during that stretch.
