The Menlo School girls' soccer team remained atop the West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) race with a 3-0 victory over host Castilleja on Tuesdayat the Mayfield Soccer Complex. The Knights improved to 9-1 in league (11-4-2 overall).

Menlo sophomore Chandler Wickers opened the scoring when her 22-yard shot deflected off a Castilleja defender's foot and went into the goal at 23 minutes giving Menlo a 1-0 halftime lead. Menlo kept the pressure on and put the game out of reach with two second-half goals.

Sophomore Jaye Boissiere got to the endline and softly chipped the goalkeeper from 10 yards, placing the ball onto senior Sophie Sheeline's foot and she volleyed in the ball from close range at 18 minutes for a 2-0 lead. Menlo sophomore Lindsay Karle's well-placed 18-yard full-volley shot found the far corner of the goal at 31 minutes. Menlo outshot Castilleja, 16-6.

Menlo's defense of senior Shannon Lacy, junior Hannah Rubin, sophomore Sienna Stritter, freshmen Alexandra Walker was rock-solid throughout the match and limited Castilleja's attack. Junior goalies Julia Dressel and Kelly McConnell shared their seventh straight shutout.
