The Palo Alto wrestling team pinned down a victory in every sense of the word while remaining unbeaten in the SCVAL De Anza Division with a 53-13 dual-match victory over host Fremont on Thursday night. The Vikings improved to 4-0 with only a home match against Los Gatos next Thursday.

Holding a 17-10 lead, Paly came up with five pins in the next six matches (one was a forfeit win) to secure the important victory and keep the Vikings in line for a possible division dual-match championship. Jordan Gans (152), Jared Swezey-Gleason (160), Christian Lonsky (170), Erik Anderson (195) and Alex Taussig (220) all came up with pins while pushing the Vikings’ lead to 53-10. Anderson won in just 48 seconds, but it was Paly’s James Giaccia at 106 pounds who had the quickest pin of the night in just six seconds.
