Stephanie Terpening and Kendall Jager provided the goals and the Sacred Heart Prep defense did the rest as the Gators moved into second place in the West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) girls' soccer race with a 2-1 victory over visiting Priory on Thursday. The Gators improved to 5-1-1 in the division for 16 points (7-3-5 overall) while the Panthers fell to 5-1 (15 points) and 8-3-2 overall. Priory senior Darrah Shields scored late in the match off a corner kick, sparking a late push by the Panthers that just came up short against the three-time defending league champion.
