The Menlo School girls' soccer team took over first place in the West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) race with a 4-0 victory over visiting King's Academy on Monday. The Knights (5-1, 7-4-2) now have 15 points while second-place Priory (4-0) has 12.

Sophomore Chandler Wickers scored the final goal with a well- placed 17-yard shot into the corner off a nice feed from sophomore Amanda McFarland.
Menlo's defense, led by senior Shannon Lacy, junior Hannah Rubin, sophomore Sienna Stritter, and freshmen Alexandra Walker was strong throughout the match while limiting King's Academy to seven shots on goal. Again, juniors Julia Dressel and Kelly McConnell combined on the shutout. Menlo outshot King's, 16-7.
