Missy Penna threw four innings of hitless ball and Shannon Koplitz drove in three runs as the S13th-ranked tanford softball team defeated visiting St. Mary's, 8-0, in a nonconference game on Wednesday. Penna has yet to allow a run, and just three hits, in 25 innings. She has 30 strikeouts and had not walked a batter this season. Stanford (5-0) hosts the Stanford Invitational beginning Friday, meeting Santa clara at 2 p.m. and Wichita State at 4 p.m.
