With seniors Elizabeth Anderson and Missy Barr combining for eight goals, the Gunn girls' water polo team held off defending champion Los Altos, 10-8, and forced a co-championship in the SCVAL De Anza Division on Thursday. The Titans improved to 11-1 in league (18-6 overall) while giving coach Mark Hernandez and the Gunn seniors their first-ever regular-season win over the Eagles. Gunn's last win over Los Altos came in the 2009 SCVAL tournament.

Anderson scored five goals, including the winning goal on a breakaway with 1:50 to play. She added ann insurance goal moments later after the Eagles failed to get back on defense. Barr added three goals, including a skip shot that tied the match at 7 with 2:38 left to play. After Los Altos scored quickly to grab an 8-7 lead, Gunn sophomore Caroline Anderson scored with 2:16 remaining to play for an 8-8 match, setting up her sister for the deciding goals. Gunn senior goalie Katie Rose Skelly came up with some big stops in the late going while senior Casey Lincoln helped limit Los Altos' top scorers.
