Daniel Pugliese of Menlo School won individual honors while Sacred Heart Prep took the team crown to open the West Bay Athletic League cross-country season on Thursday at San Bruno Mountain. Pugliese toured the 2.8-mile course in 15:26 to win by just one second. His effort helped the Knights finish third in the team standings, won by SHP with 42 points. Senior Zach Kaplan led the Gators with a third-place finish of 15:44 while teammates Kyle Burbach, Steve Glassmoyer, Carter Kremer and Bill White all finished among the top 13.
