With sophomore Kelly Moran making 10 saves, the Sacred Heart Prep girls' water polo team successfully defended its title at the 17th annual Amanda MacDonald Invitational with a 6-5 victory over St. Francis on Saturday at Menlo School.

The Gators (8-2) beat the Lancers for the second time this season as senior Pippa Temple and sophomore Morgan McCracken each scored twice as SHP overcame a 3-1 first-quarter deficit to win. Moran blanked St. Francis in the third quarter, when SHP took a 5-4 lead.

Temple scored four goals and Moran had 13 saves as the Gators downed Los Altos, 9-6, in the semifinals.
