Senior running back Taylor Mashack scored five touchdowns, four by rushing and one on a 90-yard interception return, to lead Menlo-Atherton to a 35-17 victory over host Half Moon Bay in nonleague football action Friday night.

Mashack carried 15 times for 172 yards on 15 carries, which helped the Bears (2-2) hold off the Cougars as HMB out-gained M-A in total offense, 433-264. Half Moon Bay, however, hurt itself with four second-half turnovers that allowed M-A to bounce back from a 17-14 halftime deficit.
