Stanford women's volleyball coach John Dunning announced Monday that Lauren Birks of San Diego, Morgan Boukather of Newport Beach and MacKenzie Gilbert of Encinitas will join the Cardinal in the fall.
Birks is a 6-foot outside hitter/defensive specialist and a member of the two-time state champion La Jolla Country Day School.
Boukather, a three-year starter at Corona del Mar High, is a 6-1 outside hitter. She helped lead her team to three straight Pacific Coast League Championships and three consecutive CIF state semifinalist finishes.
Gilbert is a 5-7 libero/defensive specialist out of Santa Fe Christian High School. She helped lead her team to two state championships (2007-08), two Southern California regional titles (2007-08) and three consecutive Coastal League North championships (2007-09).
