Despite losing the two prior games to Monta Vista, in their final home game of the season the Titans defeated the El Camino Division leading Matadors 7-6 to take their season best win streak to five games. The Titans bettered their record to 8-6 in the El Camino, and 13-10-1 overall. Monta Vista’s record dropped to 10-4 in league, and 13-10-1 overall.
Junior Ryan Gorman took the mound for Gunn, and almost went the distance. Scattering 8 hits through 6+ innings, he gave up 6 runs, but also had 5 strike outs. As has become his custom, senior Joe Snyder came on in relief and shut down the Matadors. He struck out two of the three batters he faced, and was given a huge help from sophomore catcher Ben Sampson, who gunned down a Matador attempting to steal second.
At the plate, the Titans were somewhat efficient with their 7 runs on 7 hits. Junior Graham Fisher went 3 for 4 on the day. Junior Alex Baker had a clutch 2 run single in the fifth inning.
The Titans travel to Milpitas for their final regular season game. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30.
